Sweet as Honey: Bee-utiful Ba-bee Shower in Florida

Latoya Nicole’s brunch baby shower was a bright and beautiful reflection of her bubbly personality and her love for Sunflowers and bees.

Vibrant roses and sunflowers adorned the tables, as guests sipped mimosas and munched on delicious southern brunch staples including chicken and waffles.

We love all of the cute details, including the bee-themed desserts and cute honey jar favors. See how LaToya pulled off a bee-utiful baby shower in the midst of COVID below.

What was the theme for the shower/party?

My Event Stylist captured elements of things I shared I loved: Vibrant Colors and Sunflowers. A Vintage-Glam Bumblebee theme was born based on my request. Bold shades of yellow were incorporated throughout alongside rustic components such as the chairs and farm tables which complimented the venue perfectly.

Please share the tasty menu.

Omgosh the food was everything! Cali’s Cuisine curated a delectable menu comprised of chicken in waffles- made to order (original versus red velvet), fresh shrimp + grits, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and hashbrowns. My mouth is watering thinking about it again.

Did guests play any fun games?

Yes, my wonderful coordinators took the lead on coming up with several games. One of the cutest ideas was the scratch-off lottery tickets (if you got a Poop emoji, you were the winner). It was too cute. Another game that I loved was a Guess Which Baby is Who game. Prior to my shower, the team requested for baby images of several of my family members/guests. We had to guess which baby was who. It was super cute and made it personable.

What entertainment was present at the party?

We had one of our favorite local DJ’s, DJ Shy Guy play some of the best old/new school music. Guests were dancing throughout my shower. I felt like I was at a boozie brunch! It was so much fun.

Due to COVID-19, where any adjustments made to the party?

Of course, I had to cut my guest count down. I made sure to get a venue that 3x the size of the guest count ensuring tables were 6 feet apart. We also tried to group family members from the same household at the tables. Also, our catering team was very prepared to serve at the buffet. This made it contact-free. Lastly, we ensured to bring several sanitizers for guests to use for anything they needed to touch.

What was the most memorable moment of the shower/party?

The most memorable moment for me was walking into the space and seeing it transformed. My vision was executed flawlessly. Also, due to COVID, I haven’t been able to see a lot of closest family and friends. Some even traveled near and far. I felt so blessed that everyone still came to celebrate me and baby Ava.
