Winnie the Pooh Themed Baby Shower in Chicago

September 18, 2020
  • 23shares

Like many of us, mom-to-be Milan grew up loving Winnie the Pooh. So, she decided to make the iconic childhood character the theme for her “sweet as honey” baby shower.

Guests loved the Pooh themed decor and charming color palette of blue and yellow. They munched on a yummy taco bar accompanied by empanadas and tamales, and for dessert, they enjoyed custom sugar cookies and a custom two-tier cake.

Everyone loved the games, but the most memorable game was when guests competed to see who could drink margaritas out of a baby bottle the fastest!

See all of the cute details planned by Elle Kay Events below.

Quick Facts

  • Date: January 11, 2020
  • Location: Big Star Wrigleyville, Chicago, IL
  • Color Scheme: Yellow, blue, white
  • Favorite Menu Item: Pastor (pork shoulder) tacos and guacamole.
  • Party Favors: custom small honey pots filled with hard honey candy

The mom to be, Milan, is known for being casual and super fun. She wanted to be sure that her baby shower reflected her style. Winnie the Pooh is a classic childhood memory for many people and offers a fun, casual, and nostalgic feeling. And what a cute way to say “Milan celebrated with Winnie the Pooh,”

Big Star is already a bright and gorgeous space making it easy to showcase the blue and yellow décor. The color scheme was incorporated in the balloon backdrop for the cake table, the cake and cookie décor and even the honey favors. The sweets table included custom sugar cookies and a two tier custom cake with a large honey pot topper.

Elements from Winnie the Pooh such as famous quotes, small terra cotta pots, and honey candy were also placed around the room to add to the décor. The children who attended the event had their own special space. The kid’s corner included Winnie the Pooh coloring pages, puzzles and board games. Guests were asked to place their best advice for the mom to be in a honey pot and were given small honey pots filled with honey candy as favors.
