Hope In Full Bloom: Beautiful Botanical Garden Maternity Shoot

“We were blooming again in love” This beautiful quote embodied the gorgeous, botanical garden maternity shoot featuring Munamommy to be Monique at the Hope Botanical Gardens in Jamaica.

Monique beamed in the stunning, burgundy gown that showcased her joyful spirit and the newest addition to her family. “Having this photoshoot gave us the opportunity to capture a significant moment in our lives after one of our greatest losses.”

Monique and Ricardo’s love and dedication to their new princess were tenderly captured by photographer Peter Anguin. The outdoor photoshoot featured the cutest nod to the family’s new bundle of joy with the tiniest baby shoes and the printed sonogram of their new Munababy!

Take a look through the gallery below to see more tender moments with the new family in the beautiful gardens.

Is this your first child or do you have other children?

Technically, no. Unfortunately, our first born is not physically with us anymore but he is never forgotten. Our first pregnancy ended in stillbirth.

How has your pregnancy been?

Despite the expected pregnancy challenges, it was a refreshing and restorative experience particularly because of the previous loss. I embraced all that came with this pregnancy (weight gain, mood swings, pains, etc.) and so I am more grateful than anything for this second chance. The main challenge was being apprehensive and concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic and its possible effects but thankfully my husband and close family were present to ensure that this pregnancy was enjoyable and safe

All mommy’s-to-be experience those crazy cravings! What’s been your guilty pleasure?

Contrary to the norm, I really didn’t have a specific/crazy craving. I had more of an increased appetite to eat just about anything that I felt for on any given day. Admittedly, food selections were not always green and leafy, lol.

What was the inspiration for your maternity shoot?

It was important for me to have a maternity photoshoot this time around because I did not have this experience the first time. This photoshoot symbolized a moment of gratitude to God for blessing us another time and restoring us with a beautiful child. Having this photoshoot gave us the opportunity to capture a significant moment in our lives after one of our greatest loss. We were blooming again in love and this was beautifully captured by Peter Anguin (our photographer) and we are so pleased. With this in mind, I did not want to use the typical blue and pink colour scheme so we opted for burgundy red for love! Plus, it would not immediately reveal the gender and I loved that!

What aspect of motherhood are you looking forward to the most?

I am looking forward to all of it! From as simple as her looking at me, holding my finger and smiling to seeing her grow at each developmental stage.

What aspect of fatherhood are you looking forward to the most?

I cannot wait to hear her speak (and say dada, lol) and see her taking her first steps so we can take many more together.

What is your biggest wish for your baby?

My wish for her is that she will never doubt that she is absolutely loved, enough and valuable!

What is your advice for expecting mothers/parents?

Pregnancy is truly different for each woman. Do not beat up yourself if your pregnancy doesn’t look like what others portray it to be. Enjoy your own journey and pace yourself. I would recommend having quality friends who have already journeyed through this experience. They can offer much needed support and guidance throughout this journey.
