If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that love is not canceled. And we’re not just talking about love for your significant other, but love for life, love for the simple things, and love for yourself. Our premier issue has truly been a labor of love to put together, COVID restrictions, and all. And we couldn’t be happier to present you with the long-awaited cover reveal.
We chose to release not one, but two covers featuring beauty vlogger and influencer Jessica Pettway. On both covers, photographed by April Johnston, Jessica is a black woman in her prime living, loving, and enjoying the beauty of life and what’s to come. A true beauty chameleon, she represents versatility with ease.

In our interview, Jessica shares her experiences and perspectives on motherhood, pregnancy, and healing after miscarriage.
“Realize that you are definitely not alone. Everyone deals with loss differently, but it’s important not to blame yourself for the miscarriage. Things happen that are out of our control and we just have to remind ourselves that we can get through it. Also, talking about how you feel with supportive people is always a great way to heal. Talk it out. Share your feelings and the healing will begin.” – Jessica Pettway.
